Harley “Stage” Upgrades at Raging Bull Cruiser & Adventure Explained

If your Harley is completely standard i.e. standard pipes, air-cleaner, and no race tuner, you would need to start with a stage 1.  This is the foundation for all further upgrades.

The stage 1 essentially improves the volumetric efficiency of the engine by adding more air and fuel as required and then gets it out of the engine faster.  It is the most cost-effective way to improve the performance of your bike.  You can match a high-flow air cleaner and the exhaust of your choice to a proper ECM calibration and or dyna tune once the ECM has been unlocked with a tune license.

Our stage 2 involves improving the cylinder filling by adding a performance cam, gasflowed or ported cylinder heads and or an enlarged throttle body.  Our preferred cam choice would always be one that does not compromise low-end performance while it adds power and torque across the rpm range.  Gasflowing cylinder heads is essentially improving the aerodynamic path into and out of a combustion chamber to optimise the air-flow.  The enlarged throttle body is a logical choice to improve the engines ability to breathe. The stage 2 allows you to experience crisp throttle response and acceleration which is perfect for passing and low speed riding without down shifting gears.

Our stage 3 upgrade generally pumps up the volume of the engine and ads even more power.  We increase the engine displacement and optimise compression to create a more volatile mixture which generates more power when ignited.  A rider will experience increased performance throughout the rpm range which produces instant passing power and minimises downshifting of gears.   This would only be recommended for the absolute enthusiast or performance junky.

All the above upgrades are available in any combination and can be tailored to suit your budget.
